3/17/2023 0 Comments Calibre woods apartmentsI had more of a bug problem at Calibre then at Post, and lived at the woodline both times. I think they are similar in a lot of ways that apartment complexes typically are, the office staff can be hit or miss, they don't always fix things immediately but sometimes it goes well. I lived in Post for a year and Calibre for three. That said, I always wondered if we would have been better off at Post. Every apartment complex is going to have issues, but it seemed to have less than I heard about at other places and also had some nice pluses to it. The more central lots seemed to fill up quicker because of more buildings around them.Īll-in-all, I'm glad we chose Calibre to live at. That probably depends on where your apartment is also though. Late at night, there were several times I had to park at the other end of the building we were in. There's always enough parking, but not always right next to your apartment. The gates also don't extend around the full perimeter, so people can easily walk in through the sides or back by the trails. Either that, or they can easily sneak in behind a resident. The gates aren't effective since nearly anyone can wait at the gate and eventually a resident will let them in because they don't want to wait. I always felt pretty secure there, but I did hear about some break ins a few times. Houston Mill does get backed up during the major commute hours, but even the wait when it is completely backed up to La Vista isn't unbearable. If you work at Emory or CDC, it's also walking distance (about a mile away) and driving was very easy if you'd rather do that. It was very nice to have some hiking trails right out back to let the dogs run around in and there are waste stations with bags and trash cans set up all over the complex.īeing walking distance to Kroger, Publix, restaurants, etc was very nice. It might be a negative if you don't have pets, but honestly, I rarely heard much barking around us. The complex is very dog friendly, and that was one of the major draws from our point of view. We often walked our dogs late at night and the complex was almost always completely silent everywhere we walked. Since we were on the ground floor, we did occasionally hear the people above us walking around, but not much other noise. Noise was very low, and in fact this was one of the things I enjoyed the most. The front staff were almost always very nice and helpful (only had got a little attitude a couple of times and from one person in particular). And of course, if you get right next to the parking lots, you could have more trouble with noise and headlights. I also heard that living in the apartments directly next to Kroger is very bad due to truck unloading early in the morning. They offer complementary pest control every week though (all you have to do is ask), and I heard that people away from the woods didn't have as many problems. Not really roaches, but a lot of spiders and millipedes. We were at the very back near the woods on the ground level, so we did have a lot of trouble with bugs. The location of your apartment will determine a lot. Okay yeah I think that's about it.I used to live at Calibre for several years. ![]() Parking? Also an issue is that the bf wants to bring his car too, but if he's not officially a resident he may not get a pass, and it would suck if he were getting towed all the time This has not been a problem at my current place as the rent is always in on time (he pays me consistently, he's a great roommate), but if either place is going to be crazy about monitoring to see whether or not he truly lives there or is just visiting, then we might have a problem. Will be living with my boyfriend who unfortunately has terrible credit and thus cannot be on the lease because he will fail that portion of the application review. tennis courts, running trails, raquetball courts, something along those lines) I'm trying to be more active but I sort of hate gyms, so any amenities or nearby things other than gyms that will help me get moving around are a plus (edit: i.e. Grad student, want a semi-quiet environment but it doesn't have to be too quiet, just not crazy partying all over everywhere all the time I know this is kind of a specific question that might not get any responses, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take etc. I know it's a bit specific, but I'm wondering if anyone has any personal or even second-hand experience with either place. I've looked at so, so many places, but there's two that have managed to consistently keep my attention: Clairmost Reserve and Calibre woods. I'm going through the grueling task of finding a place to live when I move out there this fall, without really being able to visit since apartments are already going so fast and my campus visit isn't until the end of June.
